The All Blacks played France on the weekend.
The French have a reputation for being unpredictable.
No one’s sure what team is going to turn up.
Some days brilliant, some days awful.
The All Blacks haven’t lost to them in Paris since the 1960’s.
It started off in typical All Black fashion. 4 first half tries. Clinical finishing.
Then the second half started.
The reserves came on and positions were moved around.
The team looked completely different from the first half.
And they played like a different team. Like a different game.
They conceded 11 penalties and 2 tries.
With players retiring and moving overseas the team is putting new players out there.
‘rebuilding’ some call it.
After years of greatness they have that luxury.
But most people act like this without the strong structure and years of success that the All Blacks have banked.
Chopping and changing constantly looking for the magic.
New ideas.
New products.
New software.
New brand.
Focus is the ultimate superpower.
But you can only focus when you’ve made a decision.
Who do I want to be?
You need to decide what you want to be the authority in before the market recognises you.
I always start my clients with the end in mind.
Until you know where you want to end up you cant follow the map to get there.
Decide.
Don’t look to the bench and change the team until you have.
Otherwise you risk losing the game.
