The Matrix is one of the all time great movies.
I remember seeing it in the cinema. The story, the fight scenes, all awesome.
If you remember how the story goes; Neo is a hacker who meets a shadowy group who tell him his consciousness is actually a computer simulation. The reality is that his body is being harvested by machines for energy.
The narrative of us living in a simulation appeals to many.
It’s hard believe we’re here just….because.
In a famous scene, Morpheus offers Neo the choice between a red pill and blue pill.
“You take the blue pill, the story ends. You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.”
The popular narrative is you should always choose the red pill.
You should always face up to the reality and chaos and ugliness that exists in the world.
But this is too simplistic.
Plenty of people can’t handle this reality.
Awareness with an inability to take action creates anxiety.
We all make excuses to avoid action.
No money.
No time.
Not qualified.
But they are just that. Excuses.
If you have awareness of a problem but don’t take action to remedy it you are storing up frustration and anxiety.
If you know you’re one of those people then don’t take the red pill. Take the blue pill and ‘wake up in your bed believing what you want to believe’.
Ready to take the red pill?
Get a new reality?
Take action?
