I’ve just spent 3 days at a mastermind.
Collectively, the dozen people in there have businesses worth $100m.
Learning in these environments is transformational.
Here’s three things I learned or we’re reinforced for me:
Use A Framework
But make it your own. Using a similar, proven framework to people who have done it is crucially important to growth and impact. It gives you a crystal ball of what results to expect and what shortcuts you can take. But copying someones business wholesale is foolish. The essence of your business must be your own. You are what people buy and engage with. You are the ‘USP’. With digital channels exposing so much of a business to the world it’s easy to copy what others are doing. Adopt a proven framework but make it your own.
Love The Game
The worst thing about business is that it’s hard. The best thing about business is that it’s hard. Without loving what you do the game is too hard to stick to. You have to love your customers, you have to love the results you can achieve. You have to love them because there are plenty of things you have to do that you won’t love – but are essential.
Quality is Everything
People assume at these events we mostly talk about Facebook ads, marketing and other tactical things. We spent the majority of our time on product. How do you deliver the best experience to your customers? How do you help them get the thing they want most in the shortest amount of time? No businesses survive the long term without having an amazing product and service around it. Product is also the thing that will make you grow above all else. If you weren’t allowed to market again do you have something good enough that would still get customers coming to you?
Getting in a room with people who are going on, or have already been on, the journey you wan’t to go on is transformational. That’s why I do it regularly in my own community.
