My son got Monopoly for Christmas.

Not just boring old Monopoly with Park Lane and Leicester Square.

Pokemon Monopoly with Charazod and Articuno…

Traditional Monopoly can take hours to play. 

Slowly collecting properties and cash until you can start developing and some poor sap eventually lands on your developed property and you clean them out.

Everyone has their favourite technique. 

The ‘buy cheap properties’ strategy. 

The ‘buy the stations and utilities’ people.

The ‘buy the expensive ones’ people.

The ‘buy nothing and hoard cash’ people.

It turns out my son has the best strategy of all…

…as he has won every game so far.

He buy’s everything. 

Comes steaming off Go and invests, invests, invests.

Accumulates assets and starts collecting rent on them.

And by golly it works.

There arent too many things more humbling in life than an excited 6 year old dancing round the table after beating adults at an ‘adult’ board game.

It’s the same in business.

Those who invest and commit early get the results.

You accumulate assets and get the opportunity to collect on them early. You reinvest to make those properties stronger and the returns increase dramatically.

Those who wait until some magic criteria are met, accumulate a few assets but the returns are minimal and inconsistent.
