A lot of the comments about the program have been around his frequent and liberal use of the F bomb.
He uses it because it’s natural for him but also as a pattern interrupt to snap people out of their internal dialogue and process ‘did he just say that?’
He also uses another word that I haven’t heard anyone talk about.
In our hybrid conservative/liberal society it’s a very powerful word and he uses it strategically.
Because many people aren’t told they are ‘loved’ or ‘I love you’ on a frequent basis it has real impact.
and the same phenomenon occurs in marketing.
We often choose low impact, homogenised words rather than high impact, power words when describing our products and communicating with our customers.
While swearing and telling your customers you love them frequently is likely to get you locked up you there are plenty of other words that can give your copy more impact.
